All About Us

Who We Are
In 2002, we were searching for Metro Ethernet for a client of ours on the internet. Our search was extremely ineffective because no real-time information existed in on a public-access web site. We saw this an a opportunity to build metroareaethernet.com on our own initiative. We employed a staff of researchers to figure out how commercial telecommunication carriers price out their products and more importantly, how to get XML access to their pricing algorithms. With this information and experience we programmed and patented a system called 'GeoQuote' - giving us a bird's eye view of every commercial broadband and voice product imaginable. We have made a limited view version of this software available for you to use, free of charge, on this web site. The rates, availability, and terms are updated daily to give you the most up-to-date information possible. The days of having to contact a myriad of companies and then wait days or even weeks for them to send you back a price quote are now a thing of the past.

What We Do
Even though we have unique technology to help us match you up with the best possible Metro Ethernet carrier, our team of knowledgeable experts is what sets us apart from the rest. We are here to make sure that the product you are quoting is actually the product you need, to see if we can obtain additional discounts for you that GeoQuote isn't allowed to display to the public, and to help you through the order and provisioning process with the carrier of your choice. Our unbiased team of professionals will allow you to rely on their experience and knowledge to make the right choice for your business, even if you know little about telecom. Helping you do business in an easy and straight-forward manner with commercial telecom carriers is our business. Since we are compensated by every carrier we work with, you can rest assured knowing that we will recommend the Metro Ethernet carrier that is best for you.

Where We're Going
What you see today is just the begining here at metroareaethernet.com. With the help of our core of web developers we intend to keep pushing forward, rolling out new products which quote in real-time through GeoQuote, and adding more carriers to our portfolio. As we add more carriers, with more products, you will have more options available to you with every passing week. Please check back with us regularly, especially when you are around six months away from the end of your current contract, to see what new services and price points are available to you. We are not looking to help you with just a single purchase; we want to be your trusted telecom advisors for life. If you need to contact us for any reason, please, don't hesitate to call or email us at your earliest convenience. We will do all in our capacity to respond to your inquiry immediately.

About T1 For Business

Written by: Les Harper

T1:

T1 is a high speed digital network (1.544 mbps) developed by AT&T in 1957 and implemented in the early 1960's to support voice transmission. The primary innovation of T1 was to introduce "digitized" voice. Back then a fully analog telephone system was used.

The T1 line is comprised of 24 channels. All these 24 channels can be utilized for voice as well as data lines. When integrated into your business, the T1 line is joined with a router that divides the 24 channels into phone lines or data lines on the basis of your telecommunication requirements.

In spite of being slightly expensive, the T1 voice connectivity is a dependable and quicker alternative for the business houses contemplating various options to manage their long distance voice traffic. For the purpose of the long distance services, the most extensively used form is the switched call, which originates from the common POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) lines and is routed via the switch of a local telephone company. At present, some dedicated long distance analog connection is transmitted over a digital T1 voice line. It helps in reducing the per-minute rate of calls to a great extent, but the amount of calls has to be large enough to compensate for the monthly fee charged by the carrier for the T1 line. The more calls you made the more savings you would do.

T1 can also be used for data services, and the main benefits of using for internet access are – Dedicated bandwidth, high-speed, always-on Internet access. For dial-up bandwidth is very low, for DSL sometimes maintenances services are poor. With approximately 6 times more speed, than a normal residential modem, a single T1 data line can handle several users simultaneously, depending on the tasks being executed.

Digital T1 Data Service provides dedicated bandwidth to enable you to access the Internet at amazing high-speeds and at economical prices. In addition, the digital T1 services are more reliable compared to the analog modem. Due to the high access speed and dedicated bandwidth, digital T1 for Data Communication makes it possible for you to implement state-of-the-art connectivity solutions. With remote accessibility solutions for accessing corporate data, you can easily ensure customer satisfaction.

Another major advantage of T1 is that you can satisfy all your telecommunication needs through a single T1 data line. You no longer need to move through dial-up, DSL, or ISDN lines for Internet connectivity. This is especially crucial for handling critical tasks such as database access that require a reliable Internet service.

T1 services are mainly provided by telecom operators. Various telecommunications industry leaders as AT&T, MCI, Sprint, Verio, Qwest and New Edge provide T1 connectivity for business purposes.

T1 data service is a direct connection to the telecommunication carrier's network. An approximate subscription cost would be $350 per month, with initial facility charges of about $1000. The seemingly high cost is justified by the high-speed dedicated T1 line support that boosts your business efficiency and productivity.

T1 Services can give businesses the advantage it needs in today's globally competitive marketplace: high-speed, dedicated Internet access with the same high standards of performance and reliability you've come to expect from the world-wide leaders in telecommunications.
